i was skeptical.Â MSRP of $300 for a pair of earphones!??!Â well, these aren’t just any earphones.Â the shure scl4 single low mass energy drive earphones have renewed my love affair with music… no joke.Â they’re THAT good.

the scl4 is the equivalent of the old e4c.Â i knew i wanted some e2c’s way back when i got my first iPod but just couldn’t justify the price tag.Â furthermore, i saw all sorts of non-musician people running around with shure’s (this particular pricepoint is meant for pro audio as in-ear monitors for the stage) and all i could think was POSER.Â well, now i’m the poser because we don’t run in-ears at my church.

the scl4 is shure’s one step down from top of the line earphone (there’s an scl5 that msrp’s at $600 that are considered “reference” earphones) and i just can’t explain how big of a difference it is.Â faithful reproduction of bass.Â sound isolation.Â it’s like the music is coming out of your head.

amazon has them here for $159 + shipping supposedly in white, but white is discontinued so you may be getting the black ones…Â if you’re local i’ll unload my extra pair of white ones for $120.Â if not, they’re going to eBay soon.

amazon.com has the “old” macbook pro, $2499 two days ago, listed here for $1794. plus a rebate of $150 and no tax!!! $1644 for a mbp makes me wish i was in the market for a new mac.

blee says he prefers the glossy screen. photo editors and graphics designers may prefer the matte. amazon only has the matte. hello kitty is matte black. matte is t3h win. blee loses. paraguay, i promise my mac/laptop post soon, but this couldn’t wait.
